Following this example, Assumption’s Franciscan Northside Ministries seek to embrace all as one in God and live as brother and sister to each other. The ministries' mission is to create a safe, accepting, and respectful environment to meet the physical, social, and spiritual needs of all those encountered.
Franciscan Northside Ministries is a collection of several community offerings that meet a plethora of community needs that are oftentimes overlooked. With nearly 100 active volunteers, Franciscan Northside Ministries' impact on the community is vital. Below is a description of each program:
Coffee and Donuts
This social gathering is held every Tuesday morning, open to all people of the Norhtside. Free coffee and donuts are served, creating an opportunity to meet and socialize with our neighbors.

Legal Assistance
This program offers free legal assistance, advice and referrals to those in need.

Free Pancake Breakfasts
These morning gatherings allow the neighborhood to gather for a relaxing meal and conversation, offering an opportunity to build relationships as brother and sister to one another.
Peace Camp
A week long day camp for children ages 6-11 focusing on peace, healthy relationships and peaceful alternatives in a violent neighborhood. It is offered annually during February.
Sweet Sensations
Franciscan Northside Ministries' annual fundraiser held each October. This cabaret-style evening of entertainment features performances by the finest of Syracuse's local musical artists. A variety of beverages and light refreshments are served. Proceeds benefit the Franciscan Northside Ministries.

Yearly outings throughout including picnics at Onondaga lake Park, Ice Cream Socials, Days of Reflection for Women and family Christmas reading parties.
